Hi there! Welcome to Home Reserve.
For me, furniture has always been personal. Growing up in a family of furniture makers, I watched my father and uncles pour their hearts into Wieland Furniture Co. in Michigan. They pioneered the Unimold process—an innovative way to build durable, repairable furniture with less waste. Their philosophy was simple: good design should last, not end up in a landfill. That idea stuck with me, and after 35 years in design, I believe great furniture isn’t just about style—it’s about making life easier, more comfortable, and better for the planet.
My kids are grown now, but when they were small, I saw how quickly life changes. Furniture needed to keep up—with spills, forts, and a growing family—but most didn’t. I wanted something better: furniture that lasts, adapts, and stays out of the landfill. That’s why my brother, Blaine, and I started Home Reserve.
I believe in making furniture the same way I try to live—with humility, passion, and a willingness to embrace change. Less talking, more listening. Doing the next right thing, and learning from mistakes. I’ve come to realize that 'perfect' is a myth, but there's always room for 'better.' These values guide everything we do, from the way we design our furniture to how we serve our customers.
These days, my wife Michelle and I enjoy time with our dog, Boomer, whether we’re out for a walk or relaxing on the couch. In my free time, I love building miniature model scenes—tiny, intricate worlds where every detail matters. That same attention to detail and adaptability inspires what we’ve built at Home Reserve: furniture designed to grow with you and adapt effortlessly to life’s adventures.
We’re so glad you’re here and can’t wait to be part of your home’s story.
