Choosing the fabric comes down to knowing how you and your family use your furniture. Is it just sitting in your extra living space? Are you on it all day long? Is it the snuggle spot, the dinner spot, the diaper changing spot, the fort building spot, or the cat napping spot? And exactly how much time do you have to wash your covers?
Tips for Choosing the Right Fabric:
1. Consider pets if they shed. What type of fur do they have? Finer pet hair will stick to some fabrics and coarser hair may wiggle its way into the weave. We recommend testing Retriever, Maltese, and Archetype fabrics with your pet’s fur to decide which you prefer. You can do this by rubbing the swatch all over your pet.
2. Do you have little children and do they eat on or around your furniture? Our Oscar fabrics are washable and our Retriever, Maltese, and Archetype fabrics are both washable and stain-resistant. Pro tip: mid-tone fabrics like Archetype Quartz or Maltese Denim will hide the most light and dark messes if you don’t love washing laundry a ton.
3. Test your swatch against everything. We mean it. Your favorite condiment, your coffee, your toddler, your muddy dog’s paws. Then try spot treating with your preferred cleaner or toss it in the washer. See how the swatch holds up against your lifestyle.
